Cavalier maintains a complete inspection and testing department which utilizes a thread measurement system ensuring conformity to all current federal and military specifications.

Cavalier’s Quality Assurance Program has an inspection system that meets the requirements of Mil-I-45208A and has a gauge calibration system in compliance with Mil-Std-45662A. Cavalier’s inspection processes can incorporate either System 21 or System 22 inspection methods both internal and external.

System 21 gauging provides for interchangeable assembly with detail to functional size only. Functional size must be measured at the maximum material limit within the length of standard gauging elements. The NO-GO functional diameter must also be verified by using a fixed limit gauging element.

System 22 gauging provides for interchangeable assembly with detail to functional size only. Functional size must be measured at the maximum material limit within the length of standard gauging elements, however System 22 also states that the minimum pitch diameter must also be verified over the length of the full thread. This can be achieved by using variable gauging with pitch diameter elements.
